Producing 101

Thursday, February 17 at 7:00pm until 9:00pm

This is a high-level introduction to the business of filmmaking and what you need to know if you want to be a producer. Join Yukon producer Max Fraser for an info-packed evening of getting acquainted with the business side of film, TV and digital media creation. This introductory course will gently walk you through the dizzying array of forms, systems and terminology involved in screen production. We’ll help you navigate the bureaucracy, so you can focus on creating wonderful shows for the screen.

Max Fraser ​​​​​is a veteran Yukon filmmaker and industry builder. 

His most recent production is the feature film Polaris, an interprovincial co-production that is scheduled for release in 2022.

His TV documentary Bond of Strangers – The Operation Husky Story -- was accompanied by an online digital experience. This doc aired on documentary channel, Knowledge Network and Northwestel TV.

In addition to many short films, Max has produced a two-part TV mini-series – the comedy-drama Broke Down Dawson Town – and the award-winning TV documentary Never Happen Here: The Whitehorse 9/11 Story. 

His varied career in the Yukon includes marketing and communications, book publishing, printing, politics, aboriginal relations and reporter/photographer for the Whitehorse Star.

Max has several projects in development and pre-production.
