As a way to respond to member needs, SPYA has applied for funding to support its members in taking drone training.
SPYA can offer up to $237.50 in reimbursement funding, following your completion of the Online Advanced RPAS Pilot training course. Please find a short application form here. If you wish to take advantage of this, please submit as soon as possible to reserve your funding.
We have been in contact with David at Mir Aviation Services (https://www.miraviationservices.com). This course is available through this company, and he has promised to be available for over-the-phone support, if needed. If you would like to take this course through another company, please include their course description with your application as I will have to get it approved.
To access this funding, you must meet the following criteria:
• have a demonstrated commitment to film/screen media
• own or have access to a drone
• be a SPYA member
This funding will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis (the first 10 eligible applicants who submit the form) until fully committed.
This course is self-directed. You are responsible for registering and paying for the course. Once training is complete, you will be reimbursed up to half the cost of the course or $237.50. All training must be complete and proof of payment and completion submitted to SPYA by September 1, 2019.
This training opportunity is made possible through funding from Yukon.
SPYA’s industry training program gives you the opportunity to upgrade your skills or get some one-on-one advice from a leader in your field. This program is delivered with support from Yukon Media Development.
