Lily Gontard
Lily is grateful to be living as a settler in Whitehorse, the traditional territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta’an Kwäch’än Council. Lily is a documentary filmmaker and writer. Her short documentary “Whalefall” (November 2021) was screened at seven film festivals in Canada and the UK. Her first short documentary “Inspiration in Nature” was screened at seven film festivals around the world. Her non-fiction book Beyond Mile Zero (Harbour Publishing, 2017) was a collaboration with photographer Mark Kelly. BMZ won the 2017 gold Foreword Indies travel writing award and the 2018 silver IPPY travel essay award. Her fiction and poetry have been published in various literary magazines and long-listed for the CBC Poetry Prize and the Guernica Prize for Literary Fiction.
